Month 1

Well...today was weigh in day at Dr. McClurkan's office. I was nervous! I don't feel like I have done my best the past week and knew the scale would show that. I was pleasantly surprised when the scale read 214.6# ....a total loss of 5.6 pounds this month. Now, granted, that is not the number I hoped for (I was really hoping for a 10# loss this first month), but at least it was moving in the right direction!

My clothes are also a bit looser :) I can pull my pants off without unbuttoning AND my bra is looser.

I'm getting stronger and learning to make healthier choices.

Dr. McClurkan was very pleased. He did increase my caloric intake to 1500/day to see if that would boost my weight loss to 2-3# per week. Hopefully, this month I can stay closer on task and we'll see some positive results at my September weigh in.

{I'm Back}

So...I've been MIA on the blog for way too long and decided now is the time to get back into the swing of things. I wanted to be honest with my weight struggles and a place to keep up with the progress that I'm making.

First, I'm under a doctors care for my weight loss goals, as working with a trainer and nutritionist just wasn't providing the results I was after....read...I didn't lose a single pound in 6 months! My doctor determined that I'm insulin resistant and started me on some meds that will help with that. Apparently, they work! I've lost 8 pounds (according to my scale) in about 2 weeks. I'm excited for my one month weigh in on the 20th.

Today has been a good day.

I've kept within my caloric goal. I walked this morning for 30 minutes and worked out for an hour this evening. My energy has been great! Now to keep it up for the duration of the week.

Goals for this week:
1. Keep my calorie goal (1200) in check
2. Walk 5 days this week for at least 30 minutes
3. Strength train at least 3x this week
4. At least 64oz. of Water
5. 7 hours of sleep each night
